At the core of all I do, is the written word.  From songwriting to a book about the NFL and a documentary on the Houston Oilers, I have a thing for telling stories. It’s taken me a while to pull together a site that doesn’t seem all over the place. I have music on one end and sports on the other.

My musical career spans 20 some odd years in Austin, TX (and surrounding areas) including the release of 5 CDs of original material.  It’s always incredible when Texas artists cover my songs. I’ve performed and recorded with some incredible artists like Kim Deschamps (Cowboy Junkies), Mark Andes (Spirit, Heart), Gregg Rolie (Santana, Journey), Barbara K (Timbuk 3).  I’ve written hundreds of songs and co-written with Derek Holt (Climax Blues Band) and W.C. Clark (co-writer of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Cold Shot). I was part of a band named Best New Act 2008 in the Austin Chronicle’s critic’s poll (Iron City Soul Shakers).

I’ve had the opportunity to perform on stages such as Kerrville Folk Festival, Old Settler’s Music Festival, Antone’s, Saxon Pub, Stubbs, La Zona Rosa, Hole in the Wall, and Cactus Cafe, to name a few.

I also have experience in music production, engineering, session instrumentation, and songwriting. And, I interned at Flashpoint Studio, including projects by James McMurtry (Saint Mary of the Woods).

On the other end of the field is a labor of love that took 3 years to write, The Game Before the Money, Voices of the Men Who Built the NFL It was published in 2014 by University of Nebraska Press and I’ve had some pretty cool opportunities along the way. Not to mention interviewing icons and legends of the game.

I live in New Braunfels, TX with my wife, Lisa and our awesome dogs, Lambeau and Lacey.
